Autoritatea
Turismului din Thailanda (TAT) a fost infiintata la 18
martie 1960, fiind prima organizatie din Thailanda responsabila
pentru promovarea turismului. TAT oera informatii si date
despre zonele turistice,
publicului, si promoveaza Thailanda pentru a incuraja
atat thailadezii cat si turistii internationli sa calatoreasca
in Thailanda, conduce studii pt a stabili planuri de dezvoltare
in zonele turistice, si coopereaza si sprijina productia
si dezvoltarea personalului din zona turismului. De la
infiintarea primului oficiu local TAT in Chiang Mai, in
1968, acum exista 22 de oficii locale de-a lungul Thailandei.
TAT a infiintat si multe oficii in strainatate, primul
fiind la New York, in 1963. TAT a infiintat alte 15
oficii in diferite parti ale lumii, in ultimii 30 de ani.
